Our online banking vendor has developed a new platform which will provide members a total solution by integrating multiple channels such as online banking, bill payment, personal money management tools, and mobile web and applications under a single system. Our online banking system is moving to the new platform. Once the change has been made ALL online banking users will be required to create a new username and password. The new login process utilizes multifactor authentication (MFA) to verify a member’s identify when logging in to WESTconsin Online. MFA is mandatory for all users and meets regulation guidelines.

What is changing within WESTconsin Online?

  • New username and password multifactor authentication process for a more secure login

  • New forgotten password feature using a one-time passcode, eliminating the use of challenge questions

  • New navigation bar featuring new verbiage and drop down menus for ease

  • New ‘My Profile’ link to manage your user options

  • Enhanced bill payment system featuring payees sorted by due date and options to simplify payee and payment process

Why am I required to change my username and password?

The new login process utilizes multifactor authentication (MFA) to verify a member’s identity when attempting to access online banking. The username and password have new standards for password strength and one time passcodes are now available if passwords need to be reset thus eliminating the challenge questions. MFA is mandatory for all users and meets regulation guidelines.

What is the login process when upgrading to the new technology platform?

  1. The system will check the member’s current username and password to see if they meet the new security standards. If either the username and/or password need to be updated, the member will be prompted to make the change before proceeding; essentially creating a username and password.

  2. If the member does not have any phone numbers registered the member will enter up to two phone numbers before moving onto the final steps. Either number provided will be able to receive the one-time passcode via a voice call or text message.

  3. The member will need to complete the passcode requirements by either receiving a voice phone call or text message to the phone number provided.

  4. The member may choose to enroll the computer/device with enhanced security by choosing a private or public setting. If the member chooses the public setting they will be required to follow Step 3 (obtaining a one-time passcode) at each login. If the member chooses a private setting they will not need to enter a one-time passcode at each login.

What are the Username requirements?

  • 6-20 characters long

  • Must contain at least 1 letter (cannot be all numbers)

  • Can contain letters, numbers and the following special characters: @$*_-=.!~

  • Cannot contain any spaces

What are the Password requirements?

  • 6-20 characters long

  • Are case sensitive

  • Must contain characters from at least two of the following three categories―letters, numbers and any special character can be used in a password

  • Cannot contain any spaces

  • Cannot be the same as or a substring of the Username

What are the browser requirements?

WESTconsin Online is available on most modern browsers. Our online banking vendor has tested and supports Microsoft Internet Explorer 8, Microsoft Internet Explorer 9, Mozilla Firefox latest version, Google Chrome latest version, and Apple Safari. Members may experience issues if using other browsers.

What if I only have a dial-up connection?

It is our online banking vendor’s recommendation that members have at least a DSL connection for the optimal experience. While our online banking vendor continues to enhance the functionality and performance of online banking they will not be putting time and resources in the functionality and performance of users of dial-up connections. WESTconsin Credit Union cannot guarantee the dial-up connection. A dial-up connection may result in slower connections, longer downloads, and minimal or no online banking access.

What are the new navigation bar titles?

  • My Accounts―it is the online banking home page

  • Bill Pay―access bill payment

  • Move Money―includes links to transfer money and to schedule transfers

  • Manage Money―access FinanceWorks and TurboTax

  • Additional Services―access mobile banking, eStatements/eNotices, WESTconsin Credit Union credit card, loan application and check orders
