Overview & Background

The need to educate youth about financial matters and support them in developing healthy financial habits is an extremely important effort. Therefore, schools are becoming more involved in teaching financial issues to students by including materials and hands-on activities into their curriculums.

WESTconsin Credit Union also recognizes the significance of this need and chooses to be part of a proactive solution by partnering with area school districts to help educate more than 40,000 students on financial matters and the cooperative difference. WESTconsin is currently active in more than 30 schools throughout western Wisconsin, enhancing classroom activities with free financial literacy programs and services. For the past 20 years, WESTconsin has partnered with schools on this effort.
